That’s because virtually all of these products are designed to repel mosquitoes...not kill them. Yes, some may be designed to attempt to kill them, but if you look closely at the design of the systems, you’ll find that they are meant to attract mosquitoes into your yard. You’ve got to place these systems perfectly for them to be effective and they require maintenance to assure that they are functioning properly. There effectiveness and results are mixed at best.

There hasn’t been anything available to truly deal with mosquitoes and other nuisance insects…until now. The Mist Away System is a revolutionary system that will kill the mosquitoes in a pre determined area. We will perform a free on site evaluation of your property. We will work with you to determine what area you want to protect – a deck, patio, pool, etc. We will then design a system that will incorporate a number of mist heads, tied back to a central computerized control unit. The control unit will be programmed to automatically distribute a fine mist of insecticide at predetermined times (namely dawn and dusk – when the offending insects are active.)

These mist heads are quite small and virtually disappear into the background. They are positioned in landscape beds, along fences, under decks, etc.

As for the insecticide, it is a dilute botanical insecticide comprised of chemicals called pyrethrins, which are derived from the extract of the chrysanthemum flowers. They are mixed with water which means that they are effectively dispersed and effectively kill those insects that come in contact with them. However, they also are rapidly degraded by sunlight or by rain, leaving the yard free of residual active ingredients.
